ALTERNATIVE TECHNIQUES OF ILLUSTRATION
Illustration can have many forms — contrary to common belief, it isn't restricted to a 2D plane. As often as a project allows me, I take a break from my usual styles and push the boundaries of my work using media such as cutwork, embroidery, crochet, woodwork, screen-printing, rubber stamps and photography. It means that these pieces are a little more labour intensive, and therefore require more time than others; but for me, its well worth the effort. It adds to the the detail and the tangibility, which plays on the two basic aspects of my work.
